A total of 222674 Honda Accords were recall in China

A total of 222674 Honda Accords were recall in China – Honda Motor Co. Ltd. with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Ltd. is ready to make a recall of 222,674 Honda Accord in China, after complaints on social media related to the quality of car engines.

As reported by Car and Bike, Monday (12/08/2019), there is a problem caused by the intercooler of a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine in the car.

In certain situations, the engine will lose speed which is read as vehicle protection according to Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation documents.

Some of the Japanese auto manufacturer’s car owners have uploaded videos showing their vehicles suddenly losing speed on Weibo social media over the past few weeks.

The video was uploaded as a form of protest resulting in an attempt to retract or recall to make improvements.

It was stated, there would be installation of devices capable of optimizing the rate of air flow to the engine intercooler so that engine performance could be optimal again.

Increase in Honda Sales in China

Currently total vehicle sales in China, the world’s largest car market, have fallen for 12 consecutive months to June. The industry body has also predicted a decline in sales in the following year.

Nevertheless, Honda’s sales in China succeeded in surpassing the overall market. In the first seven months of this year, local companies reported an increase in sales of up to 20.5 percent.

However, Honda has recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles including popular Civic and CR-V vehicles due to engine problems when it entered the winter.
